What to do with frames after swarm?
Discovered a couple weeks ago one of our hives swarmed. They got a little too big for their britches and left right before the cold hit. (Learned a lesson about feeding in the fall…) We're harvesting the honey frames now, but what do we do with the pollen frames? Save them for the replacement hive come spring? We were planning on switching out to black foundations to help us see the eggs better, but if we reuse the pollen frames that won't work. We've closed off the entrance because hornets have been hanging around, but for now we've left the lower box sitting outside. Any input would be much appreciated.
