Weak hive approaching winter
Hi all, I posted a few months ago about the pace of our package bees' comb-making. Well, since then, we've lost and replaced the queen and the comb is still inadequate – maybe 4 full frames of 1 brood box.
I'm done trying to figure out why the hive never thrived. Now I'm concerned about their survival over the winter. Is there anything I can do to keep them alive… feed them etc? I have a friend nearby with a healthy hive – can/should I combine mine with theirs (after removing queen)?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
