Robbing Dead Hive

We are grateful you are here

Robbing Dead Hive

Hi all, East TN novice here. I had two hives going into winter. After our last good snow, one of them was slowly dwindling. It eventually died. However, my other hive has taken this opportunity to rob the stores left in the dead one. There were plenty of honey and pollen left. Just for context, there was little to no brood left on the dead hive that I could tell nor could I see any signs of the usual pests (moths, beetles, mites, etc.).

What is everyone's thoughts about letting them rob this hive? I feel it's generally frowned upon as it could contaminate the healthy hive with whatever killed the first one off. TIA
