Removing insulation from hives.

We are grateful you are here

Removing insulation from hives.

I live in the Seattle area, and have had my hive wrapped in foam insulation since a cold snap in December. The hive seems to be doing well these days, with lots of bees gathering pollen when the sun comes out. Temps will probably be dipping to low 40s at the lowest as Spring progresses, so I’m wondering what the right time will be to remove the insulation. I’m also wondering if taking it off completely will be a shock to the bees while it is still relatively cool outside. Any thoughts or suggestions?
