Re-hiving two dead hives
I know this topic is common, but here goes. This weekend we are re-hiving two hives that were lost over winter. They are both loaded with honey, pollen, and drawn comb. A fair amount of honey is not fully capped, I'm not interested in extracting them. The threads/videos etc that discuss re-hiving dead-outs with a package usually start in a single deep box. I'm assuming this is due to the relatively small number of bees being introduced.
If we re-hive into one box, I am not sure what to do with the excess frames that have pollen/ capped/semi-capped honey. Will this keep? Do I need to freeze it?
Or, do we just set them up in double deeps full of good stuff?
