Question about spring management and removing capped frames of syrup
I have some single-deeps with a medium full of capped syrup, and some hives may have some brood in that medium. I am not sure if I should remove these capped syrup frames and replace them with undrawn frames or add an empty super above this medium. My fears are this. If I remove the frames, will I be hurting them too much for building numbers. If I keep the frames there (some colonies have a completely untouched medium of syrup), they could mix the syrup with honey/nectar.
What would be the best decision? I am in USDA 6b.
