question about propolises effectiveness in different forms.

i am just getting slowly into beekeeping and keep reading about fantastic qualities of propolis. while i was cleaning frames and prepping hives i collected some of it and really liked chewing it. my body literally said “yes, thats the shit, get some more”. been chewing few grams or more of it every other day or so. so my question is – is there a difference in getting the good stuff out of it – taking it and swallowing vs chewing it until it crumbles or taking it as a tincture? does the alcohol kills some of the properties? as it is waxy and resinous are there some foods that make it easier to digest and unlock the benefits better?
