Queen not out at 8 days post package install

The girls ate through the candy and could move in and out freely. Looked like the queen was going to be able to come out very soon. Does that sound ok to you all? Just wanted to check with the hive mind.

Bees were drawing comb on the foundation and have been enjoying their syrup and pollen patty. We had rain and cold weather all week, so I’m not super surprised that the bees didn’t get too much done this week.

One more question: do you feed 2:1 or 1:1 syrup in the spring? Zone 7a.
