Looking to start beekeeping next year and I am planning out a section of my property to be full of flowers and a stand for the hive.
My big question is about sun position. I have seen researching and I've seen that the hive should have the opening facing to the southeast. Is this a requirement or just a common practice?
The spot I have planned out is backed up against a tree line and doesn't get direct sunlight until noon time. Is that alright?
I live in Pennsylvania.
