Office Paper Box Swarm Traps. Bad Idea?
I hope to drastically expand my apiary this year primarily through catching swarms (I want some local stock). With wood prices being what they are, I would rather spend my resources on additional hive components rather than swarm traps. I read about someone using office paper boxes with a frame or two going corner to corner as a swarm trap. Has anyone else had success with cardboard swarm traps? I have access to tons of office paper boxes through work and could possibly paint them to help withstand the elements a little longer. Does this seem like a bad idea?
