Some bees, have moved into a hole in the roots / bottom of a tree my kids climb all the time. I'm fine with bees in the yard, but not so much when their home is right in the foot area for my kids to climb that tree. It's an accident waiting to happen.
Google has given me a few ideas. I tried loads of cinnamon every day for over a week and they seemed to like it by the end. I'm currently on day 2 of mothballs to see if that annoys them enough to get them to move. So far no luck.
So on further consideration, if they are honey bees (does it look like that from the picture?), I'm even willing to give raising bees as a keeper a chance if that works. So question here, if I buy one of those honey bee hives from amazon and put an attractant in it, is there a possibility that they will move from the tree to the manmade bee hive? Do I need to do something else to encourage them to move?
Any help would be appreciated.
