Is it safe to eat honey if there were squished bees in the comb?
I harvested my first ever honey just now. It did not go very well for various reasons (the comb fell away from the top bar for started). Anyway, I ended up with a little bit of comb filled with honey and about seven bees in various states of dying. I did the best I could to extract the bees but some were ripped in twain. I crushed it through a sieve into a cup. Given that I can't account for all of their stingers and given the likelihood that they may have pumped venom into the honey, should I not eat it?
