I captured a swarm with varroa mite resistant genetics, how do I preserve them?
Over the summer I’ve tested them many times by alcohol wash, and find none or 1 mite per 300 bees. I collect the bees to test from the center of the brood nest. I’ve watched them chew open brood cells, probably to remove the infected brood.
They are fairly gentle, and the queen does an excellent egg laying job.
How exactly do you preserve these genetics, when genetics get watered down over generations?
