How to treat for Varroa mites without contaminating honey.

I have been using oxalic acid and a vaporizer. It seems to kill a good amount of mites. I say this because when the treatment is done and I pull out the whiteboard all I see are a bunch of dead mites. This year I was planning on combining this technique along with mite-away strips.

From my understanding oxalic acid contaminates the honey and is no longer safe for human consumption.

So what do I do then? I live in Los Angeles and it gets pretty hot here in the summertime. The Varroa mites are relentless, I need help.
