How long should a feeder last?

How long should a feeder last?

South Texas. I had a hive on the verge of starvation and a 2nd very weak, so I've put a quart feeder on each one. After about 8 weeks the populations of both have recovered, but there is NO work coming in from the field and they have filled out NO new comb. Guess I'm stuck feeding them all winter, but I'm curious at what rate. It takes about 5 days for them to finish a quart of 2 to 1 sugar/water. Is that too slow, do I need to add another, or open the holes?
