Follow-up inspection of requeened hive

How long/soon after releasing a new queen into a queenless hive should I check to see if she was accepted or not?

The hive was queenless for about two weeks before I stuck the commercial queen cage in between the brood frames and I released her on Friday after three days caged.

I don't want to open it too soon and add stress at a critical time but I also don't want to let it go too long and start getting laying workers because it's coming up on 21 days since the original queen died.
