Fall Dieout

We are grateful you are here

Fall Dieout

I just checked in on my weak hive, almost all of them were dead except a cluster of a dozen workers and the queen. Is there any way to save the queen through the winter at this point? Box is full of honey.

My strong hive has a layer of dead bees on the base board but I did hear a couple of buzzes so I left them alone. Is it normal to already have a layer of dead bees?

I seem to have problems with hives simply dying as soon as it gets cold, mite counts have been low, not sure why. They're kept in a bee shed too so they have better insulation than most. Plenty of honey.
