Dry sugar feed in early spring?
We have a very warm day coming up (zone 6a, SW MI) and I want to give the hives a little food just to make sure we get through the last few weeks of cold weather. I have two hives (out of three) with active bees right now.
I was thinking of just dry sugar on newspaper inside the top cover. We don't have any sub-freezing temperatures in the forecast, but it seems too early for the hive top syrup feeder. Any suggestions?
