Drone Foundation or foundationless: I’m a new at this and have analysis paralysis. Seems like killing drones is an effective part of varroa management and setting up a drone foundation makes that easier but I was hoping to go foundationless for my first hive.

We are grateful you are here

I want to see the comb develop but honestly when mites happen I'm going to nuke them with Apivar or something in addition to taking out capped drones. So going foundationless for the purpose of knowing where the wax came from and avoiding chemicals isn't really on the pro/con list if that makes sense. So what do y'all think? Totally foundationless and pluck out drones here and there or provide a drone frame, take them out periodically and reduce the chemicals I need for varroa management?
