Different sugar ratios

So I am living in humid FL, and am trying to build up my first hive. My last feeding session I noticed if I have a more sugar heavy feed than 1:1 (but not 2:1), the bees seem to drink it up much faster.

Is there a formula for sugar to water ratio for more humid climates?

I am having trouble w my bees only drinking their sugar water in the early morning and late afternoon with a 1:1 mix. During the day I am lucky to see one bee in the feeder.

Also, has anyone noticed a difference between cane sugar vs the white sugar you can easily buy in bulk?
