Beginning winter prep and have some questions.
Hive status: as of last check, 2 deeps, both containing brood and some honey on the outer frames, 3 medium supers. 1 filled with honey, the other 2 are half filled.
Will the bees consolidate the honey into the second deep on their own? Or do I need to wait until it's cleared of brood, remove the deep, and load all honey into 2 supers so my final setup is 1 deep, 2 medium supers, hot box?
Essentially, the hive has too many boxes currently, how do I consolidate the resources into less space?
(for climate context, I am in Cleveland, Ohio)
