Can robbing really be stopped?
I've built clever contraptions to deter robbers, but it seems they figure it out eventually.
I've read some blogs saying it's catastrophic, that all stores can be lost in a matter of hours. I have trouble believing that… Feral honeybees seem to be doing ok without robber screens.
What do commercial beekeepers do about it?
If all stores can be robbed in hours, aren't my bees able to go rob it back in a as many hours? I'm imagining 30 lbs of honey being transported back and forth between colonies a few times/day 😋
But seriously, is it not reasonable to assume my bees rob just as much as they are robbed, and so it balances out?
