Can I leave honey from a collapsed hive for the new nuc?
I'm a first-time beekeeper (as of 2021) and unfortunately my hive didn't survive the winter. I haven't done a full post-mortem yet, but my brief inspection today revealed almost no corpses and multiple full honey frames in the brood boxes. The super was empty, but the comb is still there so I believe they ate through it.
My question is whether or not it's OK to leave some of the capped honey frames for the nuc i'll be getting next month? I'll clear out the debris and unwanted comb, but i thought i'd leave some honey. I'll harvest some too, for sure.
