Anyone have experience beekeeping in long leaf pine forest?
I’m currently living on the coast of North Carolina in a region dominated by long leaf pine forests managed for timber. Not too many flowers in general (unless I plant them). I couldn’t find much documentation online as to whether bees could utilize the pines for nectar. I know that pine honey is a thing in the Mediterranean, but not sure if these trees are suitable.
I’m basically wondering if my bees would simply starve.
If anyone has personal experience or knows a guy, I’d love to hear what you think.
